Short, intriguing little narrative about a man obsessed with acquiring and taking care of the former possessions of Marcel Proust. The collector--Jean Guerin--is fascinating himself, and this book has some nice name-dropping and gossipy bits for fans of early twentieth century Parisian artists. But above all it's a story about the love of art and objects, probably a must-read for museum studies and fetish theory readers.
